The Kintners release debut album featuring musicians from all over the world and US
"Collaborations" is an Americana album uniting 21 musicians from 3 continents in a lovingly crafted celebration of the roots of American music
Collaborations is the first album release from Texas-based husband and wife song writing duo Kelly and Keri Kintner, The Kintners. The album took them 13 painstaking months to complete and brings together a stellar line-up of independent musicians from countries as diverse as South Africa, Poland, Germany and Croatia. Musicians from Georgia, NY, California, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington and Arizona also play and sing on the album.
Charu Suri, a Masterclass Jazz pianist, and Grammy Voter, describes Collaborations as: “A gloriously ambitious work whose songs make epic, beautiful paintings out of simple situations.”
Despite those involved on the album working in isolation, sharing files across the Internet, The Kintners objective throughout has been to create the sound of a band intimately working together in a studio.
UK musician and writer, Marc Schuster, says of the making of Collaborations: “It’s common for musicians to shoot files halfway round the world to each other, but something – the magic of musicians in a room playing off each other in real-time? – is often lost in that process. Yet The Kintners have pulled it off with real grace and warmth with Collaborations.”
Kelly Kintner, who made a folk album a long time ago, and has several credits on albums as a recording engineer, has spent the last decade driving trucks across America, soaking up live music wherever he can on his travels.
Kelly says: “I’ve never met any of these musicians, but I have listened to their music for several years, and I got it into my head that I wanted to collaborate with them. I felt confident Keri and I had written some good songs that would suit them. So, we made some solid demos to approach them with. Like almost everyone else at the time, we were locked down, and so the best way for my wife and I to respond to this unique situation was to focus on a big project that would bring us pleasure and help distract from the global pandemic. So, we immersed ourselves in creating this album, an album that I hope people will recognize as joyfully celebrating the rich history of American music and life in general.
“Even though the musicians are from around the globe, they’ve all expressed a love for Americana, and the songs they play on. Be it a jazz sound from New Orleans, or a Purdie shuffle from the Burroughs, or a smooth west coast night drive with a wall of sound coming out of the car stereo, we attempt to take listeners on a sonic journey around America. It’s all inspired from my 12 years of trucking and being a travel enthusiast. I have seen live music in nearly every state. I drank it all in and Collaborations is the result of that wanderlust. I hope people will enjoy it.”
Collaborations is released June 7 2022. -----ENDS-----

About The Kintners
Texas-based songwriters, Kelly and Keri Kintner, are not your typical troubadours. Their indie-folk Americana songs tell stories of people and places they have encountered on their journey.
